The Inclusive/Exclusive Paul

We’re in the last stretches of our ‘Year of Biblical Literacy.’ It’s been an incredible — albeit challenging (COVID, anyone?) — year delving into the Scriptures to discover who God is, what He’s done, who that makes us, and then what we’re called to do. We’re jumping into our last mini-series called, ‘The Moral Vision of the NT’ where we’re exploring how we continue to live into the Moral Vision taught by the grand story of Scripture. For Week 1 we talked about ‘The Inclusive/Exclusive Paul’ and some of the misunderstandings surrounding his Epistles. Daniel explored Romans 1:1-7 and Ephesians 2:13-22 and taught us that embracing the teachings of Paul are part and parcel of the whole Gospel exclaimed in the Scriptures. Love him or hate him, there’s a good chance that you have some more homework to really understand what Christ has done through this faithful saint. Dive in and explore it with us.

Like thousands of churches worldwide, this global pandemic has forced us to be creative in our response — both in terms of how we gather and how we serve our community. Though we believe the normative pattern established in Scripture for community anticipates embodied presence of the Gathered Church, there are certain times where that’s not as safe. We find ourselves in such a time and are thankful to be able to leverage the digital landscape to remain faithful to plugging into community. This week’s Gathering came by way of smaller House Gatherings (following local, state, and federal guidelines) via Zoom. We’d love for you to join us next week!
