STORIES OF God’s Grace
Every life tells a story—and every story we live by is more than just ours. We are all story-formed: shaped by God’s greater narrative, and invited to see our own stories as part of His work in the world. We’re not here to perform religion, but to live deeply in dependence on Jesus, letting Him write His story through us. When we lean into story-formed life, we discover our lives aren’t isolated, but embedded in something bigger—something redemptive, something communal, something alive. We’re grateful to Jesus for the people he keeps weaving into the family of City Parish. We like to capture glimpses of those stories of folks that have joined us in this journey of being shaped by God’s Story and seeing how beautifully ordinary life becomes when it’s lived as part of His ongoing narrative.
As we’ve said already, being apprentices to King Jesus—being with him, becoming like him, and doing what he did—requires an all of life pursuit. There is no one-stop cure-all daily practice that will get us there. Nor is the answer—despite this cultural moment’s insistence—strictly more content to consume. But good, gospel-centered content is a vital part (and just that, only a part) of any Christian’s spiritual life. Family members and leaders from across City Parish have compiled a list of links to resources we’ve found immensely helpful in our journey to know Christ better and increase our affections/allegiance towards him. If you have one that you don’t see on the list—let us know!
Writings
Besides the weekly diet of sermon content + family meal discussions, some of our leaders/family members will write (or link to) articles/posts from time to time that address specific topics spanning the theological, cultural, political, etc. divide. These are another great resource to dive into as you journey with Jesus. If you’re a part of our community and have a topic the Spirit has been encouraging you to write towards, please reach out and we’d love to add you to our list of writers!
