The Lover

We’re nearing the end of our ‘Year of Biblical Literacy.’ It’s been an incredible — albeit challenging — year delving into the Scriptures to discover who God is, what He’s done, who that makes us, and then what we’re called to do. During this second-to-last mini-series, we’re exploring ‘The Character of Christ’ and for Week 5, we talked about Christ ‘The Lover.’ Daniel explored 1 John 4:7-10 and gave us the Biblical Truth that “If a disciple is someone who is increasingly submitting all of their lives to the empowering presence of Jesus Christ and teaching others to do the same — Then Jesus’ love is the motivation and power to do that.” Take a listen.

Like thousands of churches worldwide, this global pandemic has forced us to be creative in our response — both in terms of how we gather and how we serve our community. Though we believe the normative pattern established in Scripture for community anticipates embodied presence of the Gathered Church, there are certain times where that’s not as safe. We find ourselves in such a time and are thankful to be able to leverage the digital landscape to remain faithful to plugging into community. This week’s Gathering came by way of smaller House Gatherings (following local, state, and federal guidelines) via Zoom. We’d love for you to join us next week!
