Spiritual Nourishment

We’re moving onward in our series called ‘Stand Firm” where we’ve been doing a deep dive into the Books of 1 & 2 Peter. We just wrapped up the beautiful Doxology found in 1 Peter 1:3-12 and are moving into a section where Peter exhorts his audience to live into their new identity as children of the Heavenly Father. We narrowed in on vv. 22-25 which read:

1 So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. 2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Peter gives us the idea that once we have tasted the goodness of Christ and his gospel, we will long for more, and is this longing that fuels our continued growth. Growth for the Christian is not optional.

Give the sermon a listen and we hope to see you this week at a Family Meal and/or a DNA group to dive even deeper.
