Living Hope

We’re in a brand new series called ‘Stand Firm” where we’ll be doing a deep dive into the Books of 1 & 2 Peter. For Week 2 we jumped into the eulogy (not the funeral kind) found in 1 Peter 1:3-12 and focused on vv. 3-5.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Calvin says of these verses: ‘it is their faith in Christ that has put them in jeopardy with respect to their society, but it is that very faith in Christ that identifies them as legitimate heirs, whom God powerfully protects.’ Give the sermon a listen and we hope to see you this week at a Family Meal and/or a DNA group to dive even deeper.
