Fall/Winter ‘24 Happenings
Happy Fall and Winter, City Parish! We’ve got some exciting things coming up. Check them out!
City Parish not only gathers on Sundays but also scatters into what we call Missional Communities (MCs). MCs scatter together into the everyday rhythms of life to encourage, bless, serve, and care for one another and our cities by living as family, servants, and missionaries. It’s in these spaces and rhythms where we live out the life that flows from the gospel. We’d love to have you join one. Find out more here.
We are excited to announce that we’ve again qualified to receive a matching grant from TBC in the amount of $18,500!
We’d be humbled and honored if you would prayerfully consider helping us meet our goal of turning that $18,500 into $37,000 by giving toward this grant. Please visit cityparish.church/grant for more information.
City Teens keeps on rolling with our monthly events. We have gathered to enjoy pizza, games & movies, sped through the local corn maze, sharpened our golf skills at Scandia, perfected our roller skating moves, and battled it out with Mario Party and Mario Kart.
For our Christmas event, City Teens will gather to have a team gingerbread house decorating competition. Join us on Sunday, December 15.
It’s almost time for our annual Christmas party! Every year we look forward to all the Missional Communities gathering to celebrate the holidays with good food, great fellowship, and a lively gift exchange. This year we will meet Thursday, December 12, at 6pm at the Friesen home. Bring a dish to share and a wrapped ornament to exchange. Wear your best (or worst) holiday sweater and join in the fun!
For Sunday, December 29 we’ll be doing a ‘Scattered Sunday.’ That means that we won’t be gathering together at McDowell like usual. But that doesn’t meant that we’re taking the Sunday off.
Be on the lookout for the liturgy guide later in the week on Church Center. We hope you’ll gather with your household and/or invite other folks from within City Parish, your neighbors, etc. and reflect on the beginning of Christmastide and the end of the year!
