Jesus Paid It All

Rather than choosing a passage for an ‘a la carte’ Easter Sermon, we decided it would be fitting to stay in our Series, ‘Anchor of the Soul,’ where we’ve been exploring the book of Hebrews. If you've been following along, you’ve heard us say that Hebrews is unique in its composition in that it’s written as a sermon more than a letter. As such, it keeps building upon itself — The ideas that the ‘preacher’ keeps presenting are tied together. So if you haven’t had a chance to catch up, it might be a good idea to do so.

For Week 10 (which fell on Easter), we explored Hebrews 9 (verses 11-14 in particular). We talked about the importance of Jesus’ blood and His sacrifice that ultimately made a way for us to have reconciliation with God, and thus a clean conscience. The BIG IDEA was that “we are more sinful and flawed than we ever dared believe, BUT, through Christ’s sacrifice and blood, we are more accepted and loved than you ever dared hope.” Give it a listen and we pray that encourages you to increasingly submit your whole life to the empowering presence and lordship of Jesus Christ!
