Following Jesus as a family for sonoma county

What if Jesus is already healing what the world says is beyond repair—beginning in the lives of ordinary people?

What if Jesus’ vision of the Church is far bigger—and far more beautiful—than we’ve dared to imagine?

What if God is building a household where strangers become family and enemies become SISTERS & brothers?

What if Jesus is forming a people who can withstand the exhaustion, fragmentation, and loneliness of our cultural moment—a community marked not by performance but by presence? In a disordered world, City Parish is learning to let his voice steady us, shape us, and call us into a way of life that’s real—not curated, not performative, but rooted in his presence. We believe God is building a household where strangers find belonging, where wounds are met with mercy, and where former enemies learn to call each other sisters and brothers. We’re ordinary people being remade by grace, practicing hope in a culture running low on it, and stepping into the renewal Jesus is already beginning. And if he really is making all things new, then even a small community like ours can become a quiet sign of the world he promised. If something in you longs for that kind of life, we’d be honored to walk with you.

The CHURCh Gathered

James K.A. Smith says it well when he writes, “The church's worship is the heart of discipleship. Yes, Christian formation is a life-encompassing, Monday through Saturday, week in and week out project; but it radiates from, and is nourished by, the worship life of the congregation gathered around Word and Table.

With that conviction, we gather every Sunday at 10:15 AM at McDowell Elementary School. We are genuine when we say that our hearts and our doors are wide open to everyone and anyone with a welcome from Jesus Christ. We can’t wait to meet you!

The CHURCh Scattered

If we are to be Jesus’s disciples/apprentices—those who desire to be with him, become like him, and do what he did in all of life—then our practices/rhythms for doing so should encompass all of life as well. For disciples of Jesus, church is an identity, not just an activity.

Because of that, City Parish not only gathers on Sundays but also scatters into what we call Missional Communities (MCs). MCs scatter together into the everyday rhythms of life to encourage, bless, serve, and care for one another and our cities by living as family, servants, and missionaries.
