For City Parish, Family Membership is a simple but significant expression of what we see modeled in Scripture. From the earliest pages of the New Testament, followers of Jesus were not isolated individuals walking alone in their faith — they were part of a committed, vibrant community centered on the gospel and devoted to one another. In that spirit, Family Membership is our way of embracing this biblical vision of belonging, accountability, and shared mission.

Our desire as a church is to be a gospel-centered people who practice the way of Jesus for the renewal of our city. But that calling can’t be pursued in isolation or with casual involvement. The Christian life is meant to be lived in deep, covenantal relationships — first in full-hearted devotion to Jesus Christ, and then in sacrificial commitment to one another.

Family Membership is not about joining a club. It’s not about gaining special privileges or enjoying insider perks. It is certainly not a checklist of religious obligations. Instead, it’s a joyful declaration: these are the people with whom I will follow Jesus, these are the brothers and sisters I will learn, serve, and grow alongside, and this is the spiritual family where I will live on mission together with others for the glory of God.

Membership is also a meaningful relationship of care and accountability. City Parish elders are charged by God to lovingly guard, serve, equip, and shepherd those in the church. By becoming a Family Member, you are inviting that care into your life while also committing yourself to the good of others.

Family Membership is about knowing and being known, loving and being loved, serving and being served — all in the context of gospel community.
