Life Together — Living as the Family of God

In Week 2 of The Household of God, we continued learning what it means to live life together as the family of God. Looking at Acts 2:42–47, we saw that the Spirit who formed the early church is still forming us today. The first followers of Jesus weren’t drawn together by programs or production, but by shared devotion—to God’s Word, to prayer, to breaking bread, and to one another.

This week, we were reminded that Acts 2 isn’t describing a spiritual highlight reel—it’s showing us a pattern for Spirit-filled life in our own community. When we belong to Jesus, His love binds us together, His grace shapes our generosity, and His joy fills our homes and tables. The gospel doesn’t just save individuals; it creates a people whose shared life makes Jesus visible to the world.

In a culture marked by isolation and “functional loneliness,” we are invited to resist disconnection and live as the family of God—showing up for one another, practicing generosity, protecting unity, and praying together. Through ordinary faithfulness, our life together becomes an extraordinary witness of His love.
