Sermon On The Mount – Week 21

We’ve all heard the Golden Rule. Do unto others what you would want them to do unto you. But certainly Jesus is giving his disciples more than just a pithy zen statement. And it turns out, he is. Matthew 7:12 serves as the right-hand bookend to this elongated section of the Sermon that started back in Matthew 5:17-20 where Jesus presented his thesis statement of calling his disciples towards Greater Righteousness.

So what does this Greater Righteousness in the Golden Rule look like? And is there a way that we could ‘do unto others what we would want done to us’ that doesn’t exalt Christ? Check out this week’s sermon to find out.
