House Gatherings

SUNDAYS

Given the new State and County Health Orders that have begun taking effect, we are finally able to start shifting our Sunday Gatherings back to including in-person meetings. And though we’d love to gather as a whole church on Sundays again, House Gatherings offer us a chance to meet in-person while both mitigating more exposure/risk to each other and our communities (cf. Jeremiah 29:7, Philippians 2:1-5ff, etc.) and get a glimpse into the life/rhythms of the early church (cf. Acts 2, etc.). If fact, for centuries, the Church met in homes with gatherings no larger than 15-25 and during this time experienced explosive witness and growth.

House Gatherings allow us to experience the ever-important aspect of gathering with embodied presence. Though the teaching will still be delivered live via YouTube, the liturgy and fellowship will all take place in the analog (i.e. face-to-face/in-person). But in order to do this well and to do this safely, we need everyone to let us know they are coming each week.

Because of that, we need everyone to register for the House Gathering they plan to attend every single week by Thursday. We’re bummed by the tone this can set, but we feel these requirements offer us the best chance to care for one another and our cities well. In order to follow the Health Guidelines set before us, we have to limit the attendance for each home. Signing-up will allow us to monitor that. Once you’re registered, we’ll follow up with an email that contains the weekly liturgy and a reminder of some guidelines we’re asking everyone to adhere to (as set forth by State/Local officials, the CDC, etc.).

A few quick details…

• We’ll start the House Gatherings promptly on time at 10:30 AM — So please arrive 15 minutes early.

• The teaching will be done live at the Huskeys’ House and broadcast live via YouTube to the other House Gathering locations.

• We will be following CDC guidelines — So please bring a mask with you and everyone in your household that joins you.

• To reiterate, you will need to sign up for the House Gatherings every week. If you have signed up and are unable to make it, please let your House Gathering hosts know.
