PRACTICING THE WAY OF JESUS

FOR THE RENEWAL OF OUR CITIES

CHURCh Gathered

James K.A. Smith says it well when he writes, “The church's worship is the heart of discipleship. Yes, Christian formation is a life-encompassing, Monday through Saturday, week in and week out project; but it radiates from, and is nourished by, the worship life of the congregation gathered around Word and Table.

With that conviction, we gather every Sunday at 10:15 AM at McDowell Elementary School and our doors are wide open to everyone and anyone with a welcome from Jesus Christ. We hope you’ll join us!

CHURCH SCATTERED

If we are to be Jesus’s disciples/apprentices—those who desire to be with him, become like him, and do what he did in all of life—then our practices/rhythms for doing so should encompass all of life as well. For disciples of Jesus, church is an identity, not just an activity.

Because of that, City Parish not only gathers on Sundays but also scatters into what we call Missional Communities (MCs). MCs scatter together into the everyday rhythms of life to encourage, bless, serve, and care for one another and our cities by living as family, servants, and missionaries.

“...and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

EPHESIANS 3:19 (ESV)

There’s never a dull moment in the life and rhythms of City Parish. With MCs scattered across Sonoma County (Petaluma, Penngrove and Rohnert Park to be precise), our Sunday Gathering in Petaluma, and special events scattered throughout the year, there are plenty of ways to get plugged in and stay informed. If you’re just discovering City Parish, we’d love to meet you soon! If you’re a long-timer or have been joining us for a brief season, use the links below to keep up on all things City Parish!
